AutoZone Bearing I'm working on a 72 Dart with 7.25 rear with 10" brakes, got a new bearing off ebay that said for 72 dart with 10" brakes & 7.25 rear, But it was too big in center, part # of it was skf rwc35-yyr So now I'm thinking of just going with the autozone one, but someone put on it that its undersized, what do you all think?

This horsepoop has got to stop. There is no such thing as an Autozone bearing!!!!!
For there to be one, Az would have to have a bearing factory and the plain and simple fact is, Autozone makes nothing. Period. They even have their sale flyers printed by a contractor. And this is exactly the same as O'Reilly's, Advance Auto, CARQUEST, NAPA, even Harbor Freight.
All these companies give their brand names to items that are made by others. That's how life works. Shoot, even back in the day, GM didn't make many of their frames, they were made by Budd. And Chrysler used Budd, too This is just one example.
And another thing - bearings are made to international standards. You, the designer, look in the bearing catalog and find what will work acceptably and then you make the part fit the bearing. Talking about rolling element bearings. It's been this way for at least 80 years.
Seals are the same. Many of the smaller parts you find on your car are made by a specialty company and picked out by the designer. O-rings are another, with standardized sizes across the globe (well, maybe not in France).
So if the bearing that someone bought from Autozone doesn't fit properly, either it was made with no quality control or else the shaft or bore it pushes against was made the wrong size. Or else the person trying to assemble it doesn't know how it is supposed to fit.
R.

He's been told repeatedly what's up, but he wants to hear what he wants to hear.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

72 mopar axle bearing part number is 3420090 It`s not listing a difference for 9 or 10 inch brakes. Well thats not what I was asking about, but ok!..So that's just the way most other auto parts douse, all 72 & down you got to get the bearing for 9"?... Witch I was thinking same thing when I looked at bearing on the big bolt axle & saw it was the same as the new one I got that was bigger!

Yeal, on the new bearing I got off ebay, I first looked up the Napa one, 10" was high, so took the part number & went to ebay, guy had on their listed for my car, the little bit bigger bearing should be listed for 73 & up!.. That's prob. why autozone don't have 9" or 10" listed on theirs!

R. What he said and as you should know there is only one 7.25 bearing regardless of year and brake size.

I think I know that, I do have The numbers from my old one & it did not brag up the bearing on any auto parts, but did find some NOS ones on ebay, but that don't matter now, if you read the other post, all I need to know is has anybody ever had a prob. with the bearing from autozone like the ford guy wrote, I'm fixing to go order one, but it would of been good to know nobody has had any prob. with their brand of bearing!

I used AZ bearings on my 7-1/4 in my old Duster a few times. Order the right year and they work fine.
