Those are very heavy cast iron 440-1 heads is what I think, not worth buying unless you race where the rules require them twocents scope

Good heads. Just heavy. For the right price, I wouldn't hesitate to put them on a street motor where the weight wouldn't be a factor.

I had a guy asking $2000 for a set that were fixed. That sounds expensive, am I correct?

I'm faster then everyone that posted and I run the cast iron -1 head. These guys are so set in there ways it's funny.

My response is based on not being able to buy a new replacement if there was an incident that required it......... And they're heavier by a bunch than the aluminum equivalent........ So, unless they are extremely attractively priced, I don't see the upside.

I've tried to buy them for some tractor pull guys several times over the last 3 or 4 years, and they've never had any....... And couldn't give me a time frame for when they might.

Didn't the Chrysler Power folks run an early set of those on their tow rig?

My memory ain't what it used to be but I thought the iron 440-1 heads have a reputation for cracking. I know Indy says they're 80 pounds heavier a pair than the aluminum version.

I have had mine since 1997. They were ported by Gerald Geary. He was a well known Chrysler head porter. And a good friend. These heads went over 400 on his bench after the 2.250 intake. The heads are faster then the new CNC 345s I have on my Fast car

I can attest to the weight! I considered using a come along to lift them into place!

That's a fast car. I don't think my back would take putting them on.
