The lower control arm take most of the loads. Getting the right performance alignment will outweigh any difference you feel or performance of the polys. You can't even get to the spec alignment numbers.
You can just take a 3/8" to 1/2" section out of the rear A-arm leg and pie slice the front leg then weld. Then overlap with some steel for good measure.

My offset rubber ones have been on the car since 1993 and about 50K miles and 5 winters in Iowa.
How long are yours lasting? I wonder if that and you not being able to get it to stock specs is related?
With modern radial tires you can run .5 degrees negative camber and 3 degree postive caster. Will make the car drive and track straighter and take some of the looseness feeling out of it.

That's what the Super Stock A-body guys did to get a lot of caster. They probably bondo's things up a bit so or put the strap underneath were you wouldn't see it so much. I'm sure there are people doing this in the stock classes today even.

Where you using the poly strut rod bushings? Those are thicker than stock by about 3/16". I shaved mine 3/16" in addition to running Moog 7103 offset bushings. How to here: http://users.erols.com/mathewg/bushings.html
I can get 5-6 degrees of postive caster if I keep the camber under 1/2 degree. I ran 1.5 negative camber this time and only could get 4.3 degrees positive caster.
What caster did you have before the tubular UCA's? How much now with the tubular UCA's.
