I started putting parts back on the roadrunner, or should I say attempted to. I am having difficulty right away. I bought weather stripping from Dante's which is the Super Seal brand. I am attempting to put on the trunk seal but it doesn't go over the lip. It looks to glue down on the top. One end is divided and one is not. One side is flat and the other has a curve. How does it get glued down? Pictures always are helpful.

Next, I tried to put on the tail light extensions and tail lights. First, my gasket set is labeled wrong so I have gaskets for the wrong car. Once I get the correct gaskets, does one go on In between the extension and the body Or do I use that "sealing tape"? If I use the tape, where do I put it exactly? How about when the tail light goes in, is there a gasket that goes on both sides (1 against extension?), I know one goes against the inside to the body. Pics appreciated if I have to use that "sealing tape"!

Lastly (for now), the long inner door weather stripping. The part the starts under the wing window has holes that match the body (not for the press in plastic clips), do these get screws to hold it in or should there have been plastic "push in" tabs with flat heads to hold it in? Pics please!

Help!

I believe the trunk weather strip will have to be trimmed to length with the ends meeting in the center bottom under the trunk lock. I think the flat side gets glued to the channel with the shorter side of the curved piece towards the inside of the trunk. The gaskets on my 69 were very thin plastic ones between the body and the extension and foam between the taillight housing and the body. I think you need the plastic clips for the door weatherstrip. Holes in door will line up with holes in weather stip. I used 3m black weatherstrip adhesive and read and follow their instructions to save time and a mess.

The three holes at the end are for screws. Should be a metal piece IIRC, buried in the rubber. The rest of the holes around the perimeter of the door are for the small plastic clips.

Thanks for the info, can you send me a pic of that top end near the hinge, an one of the screws out to see its size/shape? Yes, the other holes are for the clips.

The door seal screws are black, philips #6 pretty sure, panhead, no washers.
Trunk seal is as stated above; a yellow glue (3M sells one that's correct) on the flat side, seam about centered at bottom of opening (differs a bit car-to-car), the dobled or forked side faces outward. Use some spring clamps as you go about 18"-24" at a time, and it goes pretty quickly. Takes a while for seals to collapse correctly when the doors/lid are closed. Door seals used a bit of the strip-caulk at upper ends/extension pieces but weren't glued, not needed.

Oh, and dan9 is correct on the tail lamp extensions. Plus there were little red plastic caps on the ends of the studs that project into the trunk, apparently to protect luggage.
