Who makes a good switch? Where do most mount it?

Thanks

Steering wheel and Grainger sells Omron switches. For Super class racing these are the quickest releasing I've found.

This is totally up to you as there are TONS of different ones. If you are using a delay box, you can get what's the most comfortable for you. If you are bottom bulbing I highly suggest one of the adjustable units. The steering wheel is the most logical place and probably where it is mounted in most cars. The adjustable ones probably don't mount there so well. I have seen some on brackets from the dash but most adjustables are mounted to the trans. tunnel near the shifter.

Steering wheel. Industrial places (Grainger, MSC) have them, I always just got them from Biondo or someone like that. I also like the addition of the large red button to the switch, especially if you have to wear gloves. In a pro tree deal, the LED bulbs have made everyone a hero if the car works half decent and consistency is the main consideration. If I had a full tree, no box deal like Super Stock, etc., I would use one of the adjustable units that are available, mounted where it's comfortable and can be run consistently.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

This is a street/strip car and the brake will work in first or second gear so I'm thinking of powering the switch off a toggle switch on the dash. That way if I accidentally hit it there will be no damage.

I run some street car shoot out type stuff that's pro tree but the rest of the (little) racing I do is just brackets off a full .500 tree.

Is the shoot out stuff .400 protree or .500?

For bottom bulb I like http://www.biondoracing.com/product/HSA-O.html ,but everyone has there favorite. You can have a fast switch and a slow adjustable wired in parallel if you want.

I don't/won't do anything .400 because car set up needs to be fast reacting.

I shimmed mine with washers also. Those switches I posted are a plunger style..but the have a very short throw to activate if you shim them.
