Continuos bars from main hoop to the floor. A lot of kits use the roof hoop. All sfi require continuous bars from the main hoop for a reason. Not true. SFI gives either option. Designer discretion. Kits with Halo bars are easier to fabricate. Full door down bars are more desirable, popular belief is that they are stronger in the event of a crash. Your choice, basically. IMHO, I think the full door bar is better. It took me 3 attempts to get them right, and I settled for what I built.

25.5 and quicker requires a continuous bar. 12a or 12b is a continuous roof/windshield bar. 8.50 and slower may allow it. I believe I've seen them both ways on 25.3 Doug

My copy of the spec says the roof structure (#13 bar) can be formed by a one piece halo attached to the main hoop or with continuous side bars with a connecting (#13) bar. Also the 12A and 12B bars can be continuous with the dash (#11) bar attaching to them or the #11 bar can interrupt the #12 bars allowing them to be 2 pieces, as long as the #11 bar is the correct size.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
