My 69 dart has caltracs and spilt monos with calvert shocks. The stock rear frame rails where also moved in. The truck floor was spilt and put back togeather. The way the floor is it moves the shocks even more of a angle then stock. I have read that putting the shocks vertical is going to help it have more control. I was haveing issues with the car at the track and I belive the rear shock is binding. I've seen pictures of cars with the shock in front of the rear and behind. Its looks like I have more room in the front. Was wondering if there is a better place for it to be.

How is the shock binding? If the new location makes the length shorter, either relocate the lower mount or get shorter shocks.

Just remember that if you move to the front
of the axle your shocks will need to be stronger
by the percentage of change.. measure from the
front spring eye to the shock mount now then when
you get them mounted in front measure the percentage
of change

The straighter the shock is the better it will work. The less angle the better.

This is true for drag racing... if the shock
is vertical you utilize 100% of the shocks
ability... if the shock is vertical and is
in front of the axle you MIGHT get away with
that shocks ability to control the axle but
I doubt it

Are those shocks the 5 way or 9 way adjustables..
see if they work on the front... but check the
length first.. you dont want the lower mount hanging
way down

My current shocks will definatly be to long. Not sure if they are 5 or 9 way.

Can you swap the shock mount plates side to side to use them forward of the rear end? That would make adding mounts to the inside of the frame rail fairly straight forward I would think?
