Okay, there are a lot of BB Mopars out there, but how many have configured (3) 2001 Dodge 5.9L 48mm 2 barrel throttle bodies to a stock six pack manifold, then used a modified cam sensor from a Jeep in order to run (CNP) Coil-Near-Plug ignition and sequential injection along with a 58X (60-2) crank trigger, and one of my Holley HP kits and my tune. My Mopar geek meter is off the charts.

Thats a very nice setup. up Is your question will the Jeep cam sensor work ? Or is it something you heard some guys are doing and need to know what needs to be modified ? I cant really help you as all I can tell you is that cam sensor should be a three wire Hall Effect style sensor. It needs a ground , a signal wire from the PCM which is 5 volts and a power up wire which could be from 5 to 12 volts as Mopar used a few different voltages on the power wire to the Hall Effect sensors over the years as I have seen 12 , 9 , 8 and 5 volts on the power wire. Good luck with that cool setup. Ron

I did a 360 six pack using canibalized carbs for throttle bodies once. It also has DIS ignition (ELECTROMOTIVE) No cam sensor though!
I just did a jeep cam sensor mod to a factory distributor for MR Pbody. I have a little drawing if anyone needs dimensions.

Rich, very nice job on the harness layout. Best work I've seen for a custom job. I do recommend you when asked.

Looks cool. I'm getting up to speed on the EFI stuff, should have my first conversion running later this year. I've figured out a couple of alternatives to the Jeep sensor but haven't built anything yet. Should have some prototypes in a few weeks. I just sent an intake off to Wilson for their EFI conversion so I'm starting to get my toes wet.

Tell us more about "Wilson". What exactly do they do to manifolds and where are they located ??

Rich, do you use 5volt or 12volt supply voltage on the cam sensor? I've installed these on a few systems and always used 5volt. I sold one to a guy that used 12 volt supply and it still works, so the operating range seems forgiving. I noticed most of the specs for cherry sensors have a fairly wide v range.
I did bench test one and noticed the rising edge is rounded without a pull up resistor. The falling edge is sharp. Not sure if the Holley systems add the resistor in the ECU, but system logs look good without any added resistor.

in your print, the 3.750 small block base to shaft tip length fits which [if any] big block, and if not, is there sufficient shaft length to shorten [cut] to fit ?

Did you use the bushing from Jerry at SD concepts? Its a very nice piece and he sells one to drop the Jeep sensor in a big or small block.

Trendz, I had to use a resistor with my MS3X to make the jeep sensor work properly.

Rich that is a really cool project. I just got an old Holley Tunnel ram I am converting to EFI so I can use it on my W2 416.

I set the Holley software for falling edge because I didn't want to rely on the ECU providing the pullup. But it's still a clean signal.

Looks awesome!! Hey Rich thinking of converting the TS car over to FI. I have just never attempted an EFI deal before so doing some research on whats out there now.

we have crank trigger kits now to that work with the cam sensors. we sell them with either a 24x trigger wheel or a 36-1. we are coming out with a generic cam sensor that way no one would have to use the factory jeep one that's sometimes hard to get a connector for.

check out sdconcepts.com for wiring info etc as well.

Here is the connector part number. Any mopar dealer can get it.
Also a scope shot of the trigger event. Going high is rounded. Going low is sharp.

Nice to see support from you vendors embracing the mopar stuff.

The setup is mine on a 70 challenger. I worked on the mechanical part last winter and this winter on the electrical part The jeep sensor runs off 5 volt and the I made the bushing for the cam sensor. Still working on the tuning but its up and running. Rich has been a big help in the tuning.
