This question may possibly be answered only by Galen Govier himself but perhaps some of you have this answer which I am quite eager to know.
What percentage of all Roadrunners sold in 1971 came with the color GY3 Curious Yellow? If you can't give me Roadrunners then the whole Satellite line. Thanks
Would like to know if the numbers are significantly low and also if there is a website link anywhere to check production numbers against color (regular or hi-impact.
Thanks GG? OMG you must be new here. To answer your original question is 7.2% for Road Runner and 6.7% for GTX. That makes it fairly common.

Thanks for the 7.2% of all Roadrunners answer. That's exactly what I was looking for.
Since RS23U1G has already suggested there are 21 colours for the 71 Satellite family, any percentage higher than 4.76% would be considered fairly common. So I'd agree. Still a great color. I only have a breakdown of High Impacts. For 71 RR: EV2 -12.2% GY3 - 7.2% EL5 - 6.4% FJ6 - 5.5% FC7 - 4.9% FY1 - 0.9%

Believe it is called Lemon Twist yellow. That's the colour that I had my car painted in '87 when I gave the paint shop the wrong code. I was 27 years old at the time and knew nothing about Mopars. I'm 59 now and looking back, now I can see why, to a small degree, there was so much interest in my car at local shows. FY1 is considered rare for Roadrunners. Interesting.

The reason FY1 production was so low in 71 was due to the fact that it was not listed as an available color at the beginning of production . It wasn't in the color sample brochures etc in August . I don't have my TSBs in front of me , but at some point another color was dropped and FY1 added , they only ran 18 colors at any given time .
Greg I don't agree that they only ran 18 colors at any given time. in 1970 there were 20 colors available when they added FM3 and FJ6. Barry's site shows the Trim Selector with 19 Satellite colors and that was before they added GY4. As for FY1, I don't have the Plymouth PIB handy, but the Dodge one shows that they added FY1 in mid-September. I would think that would likely apply for Plymouth too.

GY-4...
'Honeydew'...
Appears to be a '72 color...
So, I suspect it was sprayed on late cars... GY4 started out as a C-body color. It was added to the B-Body line in Mid-March I believe.
