Yep easy to cut out and replace, I did a metal plate and added some framing to help support the 20 gal cell in my trunk of my 67 dart.

Cut ours out and used a sheet of aluminum. I welded two pieces of 1.5" tubing between the frame rails and used a 68 Ford Falcon/Mustang tank, and it worked perfect.

Can you post a pic of your push pull switch Mopar matt? Getting ready to do it in my car. Sure here you go. Course doing this is did one thing I've never done before, I locked the keys in the trunk after the pictures lol had to remove the firewall between the trunk and passenger compartment lol its all good glad I got them out. Here's also the frame is added to help support.

OP, the spare tire well does not weigh a whole lot more than alum., unless it's caked with undercoating. Can you post a pic of your push pull switch Mopar matt? Getting ready to do it in my car. The handle for this push/pull switch exits through the glass bumper.

Hate to drill through my glass bumpers as they were just painted.

Insane paint in WI did mine, a little pricey but I like it! Looks like real chrome. Don

I don't think you need a master cut off switch mounted at the rear of a race car on any car that has the battery in the stock location I feel it is in my best interest to have one on my car with a electric fuel pump. In case I crash and have a fire would be best for me and Saftey crews if a 500 gph pump isn't running.

They are painted in a multiple step process. I had many issues with the shop who painted and will not refer him or his shop to anyone.

They have a good bit of dirt in them and hope they wet sand out with out ruining the finish. He will not stand by his work because I got a discount of a $100 a bumper because I took him four bumpers to do at once.

My brothers push pull switch comes out under the tail light and above the bumper. no drilling through the decklid or bumpers needed.

Plus when you sand that dirt, it may be a different color and look like black specs on there. Be careful. But again those look really nice !

I like that idea, by the tail light. I should have sent them to you Tony and regret it now. I have seen your quality of work.

I also cut the wheel well out of my Duster because as many people know, you can't get 3" exhaust pipes between the stock gas tank and the rails. The solution was to put in a flat piece of grooved metal and install a 1968 Charger gas tank. This tank also has the fill inlet in the same spot but is much narrower and longer front to rear. It barely fits, but once she's in there, the average person won't know the difference- and the pipes will clear no problem. Add your vinyl trunk mat, and she's done.
