Thanks for the responses. I ask because I have a lowly 383 and I am putting portted sidewinder heads and a tr on it. But my future plan is to build a bigger short block eventually. My current combo is 12.5 to 1 trw domes, mp590 cam. 2800lb valiant. I'm hoping at least 10.7s. -12.5:1 383 -ported sidewinders -tunnel ram -590 cam -2800lbs Assuming it doesnt have a crappy converter and totally the wrong gear/tire combo, if that doesn't run at least 10.70's (at a track that's below 1500'-ish elevation), there's something seriously wrong with it.

I think it would've gone quicker with a cam where the intake closed somewhat earlier for a bit more effective stroke/CP....was at 0 sea, knowledge wasn't the best back then, like running 4psi in the slicks!

65 Belevadere all steel we have gone 10.94 on pump gas with 915 heads 2.14 / 1.81 valves....Its a pump gas 440 Source 526 stroker. Its got more in it, we are fighting traction since the car is not tubbed. Its fast, streetable and fun to drive. With a 526 that has to have some fast port speed

My old DartSport had a low deck 451(400 block with 440 crank), MP 590 purpleshaft, ported Eddy heads, 727 with 8" ATI converter, 4.56 gears and 14x32 tires and weighed 3050# with me in it.
Ran 10.0's with a best of 9.96 in good air with a single Dominator.
Ran 9.90's with a best of 9.89 with a M1 TR and two 750 Quickfuel carbs. Extremely fun car, with 11.2 to 1 compression I ran pump gas on the street and mixed in a gallon of 110 octane as an additive. I'm guessing around 650HP. I don't have any photos on this new computer.
1970 Challenger, all aluminum 528 Hemi, HDK suspension, Tremec 5 speed manual
