Customers car:
14:1 493, mild roller, tg4500 intake, 1050 carb, 335cfm std port SR's in a 2300lb S/G "street roadster".
As I recall it went like 8.80's in decent air......it was just under 700hp.
It was a very low maintenance bracket build.

Yep, that would do it. I wonder how the Trick Flows would compare to the std port SR heads.

I think the answer to the question is how fast will 700 hp go in your car. Obviously a 700 hp engine in a rail will go a ton faster than in an Imperial with street tires.

It is fairly easy to build a 700 hp std port engine these days. Buy some Trick Flow heads, add a solid roller cam and some decent compression and you are there.

My old pump gas 518 C.I. low deck pump gas stroker (10.29 to 1 comp. ratio)ran a best of 10.30 at 127.8 MPH through the 3.0 inch exhaust system with the Magnaflow 14x3 inch ovals muffs mounted at rear bumper with me in my 1971 Duster weighing 3450 lbs. with the six pack and air cleaner on the CNC ported Eddy RPM heads.
That motor on a DTS engine dyno in Ontario, CA with a .050 shorter stroke crank and 1.0 point less compression and a set of big valve mildly ported 906 heads made 612 HP @ 5500 RPM and 644 Ft. Lbs. at 4500 RPM shruggy
I was really happy with that motor and the results it would produce with the changes I made on it, the last combination was a set of Indy SR M.W. heads and a Indy 400-3 intake and a holley 9375 non HP carb made 727 HP at 4300 ft in Klamath Falls OR. at 4300 ft. altitude. That was the last changes I made on that car and it made the car run 9.993 at 134.7 MPH through the full exhaust and on 91 octane OR non ethanol pump swill at Woodburn in late summer boogie
You can made decent power with the standard port heads on a BB Mopar thumbs
Better heads will make more power also with no other changes thumbs work scope
Now, how fast do you want to go devil

I dont think 750hp would be all that hard to reach with some 350cfm heads on a high compression roller stroker build.

Then, as you say....... Just depends on what you bolt it into.

And there's also boost or spray.

'Nother one:
14:1 528, b1bs heads flowing around 325. M1 TR with 2 x 750's, .690 roller, made right about 720hp @ 6000rpm.
Went 9.71 @ 140 in a 3700lb 68 charger R/T.

One more:
12:1 low deck 451, stage 6's with mild porting(300cfm), RB TG4500, .685 roller, made 650hp, went 9.31 @ 143 in a 2650lb S/G 70 Cuda.

440 block and crank, alum rods, 11.2 to 1 Ross pistons, unported Edelbrock rpm heads, 304/640 ultradyne flat tappet cam, Isky ductile rockers, 4150 flange M-1 intake, 4150 to dominator 2" adapter with two cheater spray bars installed in it, and an 1150 Dominator on top.

simple straight-forward combo that went a best of 9.96-133 on motor alone, and 8.92-149 on spray.

2950lb 70 Challenger, glide and 9" hughes converter, 4.30 geared 8 3/4.
Dependable and lots of fun!

Mild solid cam, Crane? I'll have to ask my partner, 9 inch TCI , 5.13, TM7 800 holly with a 850 baseplate and 2 inch wooden spacer I made. Tried the Weiand, didn't help. Six-pac scoop on a glass hood. Car weighted 3021 but KK weighted 260. Headers by Ed, fender well but made better than Hooker, didn't interfere with tire. Looked like a big spider on the engine stand. Tore up every 8 inch converter we put in it, probably made better now. Won a lot of money with that car.

There are iron headed wedge Super Stock cars that run low 9s at pretty hefty weights.....so take that for what it's worth. But that makes some alum headed strokers seem not so impressive. Too many just throw "cool guy" parts at motors instead of carefully planning the combo.

NOT saying you should use iron heads, or not build a stroker............just saying that a good combo is what makes power, not just throwing parts in a pile

Thanks for the responses. I ask because I have a lowly 383 and I am putting portted sidewinder heads and a tr on it. But my future plan is to build a bigger short block eventually.
My current combo is 12.5 to 1 trw domes, mp590 cam. 2800lb valiant. I'm hoping at least 10.7s. But eventually wanna build a short block for 10.00 or better. Looks like these heads can do the trick.
