Same here. I have been around a very long time and have pulled plenty of originals apart at the yard. I don`t spend my time second guessing the engineers who designed these things so I always reinstall it.
Ok, However roller timing chain clearance is my concern. Those engineers were only concerned with the OEM stuff of the time.
All of my original 340s had double roller chains and they all have oil slingers.
