Hi guys, my question is, will the stock 340 tray, attached to the #2+#4 main caps, clear the popular 4" scat forged stroker crank ? I'm using the Milodon 30935 8 quart pan and pickup with the Mellings HV pump. Thanks for the help.

just from my std stroke SB builds I would be inclined to opinionate no as is but can be easily rectified. You can space it further away from sitting flush on the flats of those 4 bolts. I think there will still be plenty of space between the tray and the sump. best plan as you know would be to mockup but I think you will be OK

Thanks RR... That's what I was thinking too, if I shim the tops of the main cap screws, I should be able to clear the counter weights and still effectively reduce the windage mass trapped in the vicinity of the spinning crankshaft. If I recall correctly, this is how the Milodon tray is adjusted when using their tray mounting kit.

The MP windage tray is a fits all LA setup, so the mounting holes are oval and it clears the 360 crank as well. Uses longer main bolts with extra washers to fit the longer main bolts into the short main bolts applications.

the production tray is a more specific fit setup but you should be able to use longer mounting bolts and washers to shim the tray. Don't think I would shim the main bolts though.

Yes, that's what I meant. I want to leave the cap screws and washers as they are, and use longer, shimmed tray mounting screws to lower the tray until clearance is sufficient. The tray mounting screws just look like half inch long, 1/4x20 hex head screws, by using longer screws and washers, the production tray should be made to clear the stroker crank I hope.

The Milodon windage tray attaching kit uses studs and two nuts (per stud, one above and one below the tray) to adjust height, an option to consider.
