Okay here is a GEN 2 Hemi question;
I am installing a 426 Hemi into my 1971 Challenger in place of the 440. I want to use an NASCAR aluminum (or magnesium) factory single four barrel intake in place of the Hemi factory dual four set-up.
Will the single four barrel intake and carb line up with the hole for the Shaker hood, and will the height be close to say a stock 383 or 440 four barrel Shaker set up? Or am I stuck with using the factory dual four set-up?
Anyone done this before?

I officially have no clue but can't see the NASCAR piece sharing the same carb height. I imagine it'll be a bit taller.

I don't know if it will work or not, but you are likely to need to fabricate the base plate. I had a -3 Indy intake and Dominator on a RB under my Shaker. Had to drop the K and basically build a base plate and filter lid, but it worked good.
I now have an Indy DP and Dominator on my Hemi under the Shaker. So most anything can be done with a little (or lot of) fabrication.
Master, again and still

Yes, I was thinking maybe the location of the single 4bbl carb would be centered on the 426 as it would be on the 440, as they are both RB blocks and share the same basic dimensions. The height could be an issue though, but may be easier to address...
