I broke the throttle cable on my 68 Charger. It's got a thread on end rather than the u shaped slip on end at the carb and a ball stud female end threads onto that. Just called mega parts and they've never seen such a thing, anyone know where I can get one? Forgot to take a pic of it this morning.

Also, a part number for the little plastic plug on the pedal assembly that holds the cable in place? That shot off to parts unknown when I was taking it apart...

Doesn't sound like a factory setup, maybe take a picture and post it.

Sounds like you have a universal cable repair end.

The plastic plug is P/N 3418847.

You could probably find a hardware store substitute.

interesting, I've got to look at it closer. the pedal end is all frayed, but maybe I can do a repair on that end if I electrical tape it up like you do before cutting the cable.

O'reily has generic cable ends, I'll probably try to repair the one in the car because the ball stud part is really nice at the carb.

Not sure how well you can see my cable and the end at the carb but this is a Lokar cable that I use. Does yours look like this ? Ron

you were right John, the carb end had been repaired. I got a cheap Doorman cable end repair kit, but the cable was unraveled too far. I got an end on it but the cable doesn't smoothly slide into the sheath anymore. A sticky throttle was the original symptom and the cable snapped while I was troubleshooting that.
Ordered a new one from Mancini and will switch the carb back to the other bellcrank style

Is it supposed to keep the plastic over the cable?
