Does anyone make a close reproduction of the exhaust plates that mount on the trunk floor (using the small Phillips head screw) and are used to bolt the exhaust hanger insulators?

I've been trying to find a good original set with no luck.

Thanks everyone!

Rob

Have you tried ECS, I know Dave makes a lot of small engine/body brackets and pieces, some not listed on his site, I would think with his repro OEM E body exhaust components he "might" offer these or have them in the works?

Good idea, Mike. I just checked the ECS website and didn't see them. But he may not have them listed...I'll have to give them a call.

Hopefully Dave has them, because If he does they are probably the closest to OEM.

Rob,

You know your car doesn't use the small screw, right? LA just glued them in. No screw.

No, I was not aware of that. My car currently has a screw, but I'm not sure if it was added when it was restored.

Do you have a picture of an LA car with the plate installed without the screw? Did they just fill-in the screw hole with glue?

That might be something that was done wrong on your car. There was a post on here a long time ago about differences between LA cars and other plants and that was highlighted.

I can check my one sole LA car but it's more of a parts car. Send me an email

Here is an LA car and you can see that it never had a screw. The screw hole is filled with buddy. LA glued these in good

I see exactly what you mean, Chris. Based on what you and Jason have said/shown, I won't be re-installing them with the screw. Any idea of what type of glue or putty they used?

I cleaned-up my hangers and I only need 1 clean original to replace one that is really badly pitted. For some reason, one of mine is perfect, while the other is toast. I’m going to keep searching for an original before I buy a pair of reproduction hangers.

It's real hard to find a good original with the trunk mats that Chrysler used.

I can imagine. The moisture collects under the mats and just sits there corroding the metal. Hopefully I'll come across one...
