Charlie, are those T&Ds Or Jesel Rockers? We Have the T&Ds ( about four years old ) and I'm wondering how you guys check your spring pressures on the motor. Can it be done on the motor? My friends have tools like the Buxton, but I don't think they have one for the Hemi. Do you modify them to fit or have another trick? Sorry to hijack, I just thought this would be the best place to try.

logan smith sent me a tool to check pressure with jesel rockers. It was a little complicated. There is so much rocker offset it is hard to do. I just run them 18 runs, and pitch em'.

By the way WARHEADS have arrived. I am planning on running them this weekend. I also have a billet intake manifold that I made that I will be testing. I will put a pic on of the whole package later.

CW is that one of your motors in Hensons car? I see he went 8.62 at a points meet. I think thats the fastest he`s gone.

yes, I just sent that to him on friday. It is the one that he broke at indy. I am very proud of him, and rains. Rains made a so so run today, but I think he has somthing up his sleeve for tomorrow. I am finishing up my motor now with my new top end package. I am looking forward to running that on sunday.
BTW, wheres 'lil joe. Is caro running their motor? He ran good also.

henson just went 8.55. one away from the record. He has one more shot at it. I am sure jeff the master of all can tell how fast one of his bullets could have went. I guess caro went a 70 something today, as did hopkins. Rains moved up with a .70 in phoenix also.

Congratulations to Fred! That's a heck of a run. I almost fell off my computer chair when I pulled up the qualifying sheet on DRC.

congrats to the good run by fred,, looks like his car is running like the power you supply him charlie,, finally. fred is one of the nicest guys out there,, im glad to see him runing good.

lil joe had his car re-back halved to try to get the car to 60ft,, he wanted to make runs in it with a spare motor to get the car sorted out before putting their better motor in it. they have 5-8 year old barton stuff in it.

jerry has his back up motor in it,, though its not a bad motor,, he is still working on getting his "good" together.

hopkins is racing jim hale's car,, with hale's motor in it.

I have an idea, How about we have a race and we call it "THE GOOD MOTOR NATIONALS!" You have to sign a paper before you run that you have your "GOOD" piece in, and after you get smoked you will have no excuses. I will be there, I only have 2 motors, and the "good" one is always in the car, the "bad" one is at home. My "bad" one is in my dads car for now until I get a new one done.

henson set the record 8.54 1100' air

i may be wrong but i think the division 4 guys wont let a previous run be the back up,, therefore henson didnt get the record. though a great run by fred,, that should put him in the top couple cars in the country. i may be wrong again,,,,, but i think a dart runs less total speed than a cuda by atleast 1mph,, maybe 1.5. i think he went 153.3 on the .54 run,, you could correct me on that charlie.

as per the "good" motor deal,,, next time i talk to jerry, little joe,, and all others il let them know that they arent racing up to your expectations and that they need to spend more time on their racing programs to be more prepared to race your customers and you. they need to spend less time on their businesses, family, and other hobbies..

you tell them guys whatever makes you sleep at night, but you be sure to tell them and everyone else that I build as good an engine for my customers as I do for myself which contradicts what you told me. If they want to use the other hobbies excuse, thats been used before. It doesnt make them any faster, or my customers any slower.
and they didnt give it to him because of the set it first rule. Thats fine, everyone knows how fast he is.
BTW, hows the ss hemi engine/head business doing?

its hard to get good hemi castings,, i have 4 guys waiting for heads,, i have a new engine customer as well,, though im going to say names,, there might be another or two interested in engines also.

so now all of a sudden henson is fast so he is ready to combat everyone else? what about you arguing that freds car, rains car, warfords car, smiths car,, were all junk and that the car was absorbing all the power you were supplying to them? thats the problem i have with you,, your customers had crap cars so they didnt run up to par,, but someone else just has no power,, nothing wrong with their cars. that rule only applied to you.

sleeping at night??? me,, i sleep great,, how much sleep are you loosing knowing that i ported the heads on all your customers engines,, and yours??

im done with this charlie,, its hard to argue anything on the internet,, especially if im arguing with a child.

how does it feel that your heads are faster when I fix them then you can make them? I bought 8 sets of casting down the street from your shop at mancinis, whats so hard about that? I have a couple sets of your heads here for sale. I also have the top end off my motor for sale, maybe you should buy it and step into the 21st century.

So this early in the year what is gonna happen when these cars run a .40 will the cage be a problem anyone know the latest.

No the cage won't be a problem, some of the ss modified cars are already in the 8 teens and they haven't mandated any changes for them either. Congrats to Fred and Charlie on a great weekend. Mike
