Has anyone installed a stock late model type fuel pump in an earlier tank? If so how much pressure and volume did you achieve? If enough I will use in a race car. I know I have to run a return line.

I did this in my GTX using an Aeromotive Stealth 340 pump installed in the stock fuel tank. This is a simple task if you can fabricate and weld; if not then it is an expensive task. Pump output depends on pressure. The higher the pressure (fuel injection) the less output. Using a carb (5-10 PSI) the pump is almost at free flow therefore it will pump more fuel. You can get flow rates for any pump via a google search. I am doing my other cars fuel system now in preparation for a 512 stroker. I am going to use Tanks Inc. For about $500 you can get a new fuel tank with a sump box installed and fuel pump (they use Welbro) modified to be easily installed in the tank. All of this can be had at Summit for less than what you can get direct from Tanks Inc. (at least for my application)

I'm very happy with the Aeromotive Stealth 340 in the GTX. That car has a strong 496 and no fuel issues. I recommend it highly but it is much more expensive than the Walbro. Both are quality pumps in my opinion.

tanks inc Tank, Aeromotive 340 pump, and a Jakefab install kit/top hat makes for a very very nice baffled tank setup.

the Jakefab setup has 1/4" NPT inlet ports instead of 1/8" as found on the Aeromotive products.

I am Bias though.
