I was removing my carb and since it was cold in the garage, the plastic end of the kickdown cable cracked. I looked and for a new cable it costs $100, which I think is crazy. Does anybody know of a different source for this, I am assuming there is none.

Why not call them tomorrow and see if they will sell you just the end, and mention why ?

I looked at the end and it looks like it is kind of molded over the cable and wouldn't be possible to just replace the end. I will call them however.

Why cut you cut the tipof the cable off and then when you get the new piece use a brass barrel with a screw in it to keep it from coming back off. There should be enough cable to make up for the bit you cut off.

Maybe, but what I am thinking now is to drill a hole in the plastic end since just the connector on the side broke off and put a bolt through the hole and attach it to the carb. Should work and cost $0.50

Check with a motorcycle or snowmobile repair shop, there are several different type cable end repair fittings, the one below is an example:

go to a jy and get the cable off a mag engine vehical

I think a bosh will use a stock mopar cable IIRC
