I have never seen them grooved new. Only after they are installed do they get grooves in them.

Most of the ones packed with the NAPA remanufactured calipers are grooved. All the ones packaged / sold as replacements I have seen are smooth. I have seen a few company's offer extra thick smooth ones.

None seal as well as the originals. I always reuse them.

Buy new ones over the counter at your local Dodge dealer

This, the new dealer ones are smooth. gently wire brush the originals and use a scribe to clean the circular grooves & an option is a very light coat of sealant (I used "the right stuff" on a toughie), no leaks

Yeah I've already tried those washers in the pic. Don't have the originals. I'm just not getting a seal.

The best way to get a good seal with the solid copper washers after the first use is to put a torch to them until they glow. It annals it and makes it soft again.

Make sure the problem isn't a pitted/corroded caliper sealing surface. I had a sealing issue even those thick washers didn't take care of. It turned out that the washers sealing surface on the caliper was heavily pitted and the fluid leaked right past the washer.(rebuild CARQUEST calipers) I had to sand the sealing surface to a smooth finish.

I used to have problems with them until I started to tighten and loosen them half a dozen times. This allows them to seat much better.

I do the same thing with new rocker arms and adjuster jam nuts.
