You can use anything with a higher specific gravity than steel. How much you use depends on how much steel you remove, the math is accurate. You just substitute the SG of your insert material when you calculate to see how big the holes are. Gold is excellent but... Lead works just fine and costs almost nothing, you just need more of it.
