I've been thinking about picking up a wideband AFR meter and have been looking at the Innovate LM-2. I've run several searches here on Moparts and it seems like a fair number of people here have had good experiences with them; however, other reviews on the web are all over the place, with lots of people really hating this particular model. You can currently buy an LM-2 for $240 on Amazon, which is about $100 off retail, and I like the fact that the LM-2 can data log and that you can simultaneously log RPM with a $30 inductive clamp add on. Seems like a pretty good deal, as long as the thing works. Looking to get some fresh opinions from folks that have some experience with these things. Do you love yours or hate it? Thanks

They did have problems when the LM-2 came out.. I assume those problems have been resolved... I run a LM-1 and use a camera as a data logger... just make sure that the tach and the A/F meter are in the same frame and the sound works to see if you are starting to load differently along with the tach

If you are running a MSD ignition then don't waste your money on the inductive clamp attachment it don't work with the multiple spark, I had to hard wire mine into the tach out put with the analog cable and just leave it in the car,, now if you are going to use it on multiple vehicles with factory ignition you will be fine with it, I love mine
Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

I run the LM-1, LMA-2 RPM Converter and LM-3 Auxbox (this last one allows you to capture a whole wack of sensor inputs).
The LM1-1/LMA-2 combo has been trouble free. The LM-1/LM-3 however I have not been able to successfully connect. The LM-3 refuses to read out the tach signal. I even sent it in for service, the process was rather poor...very little info being reported out, etc, etc...it took a number of email exchanges to be finally told that the box checked out fine and that maybe there is signal noise and I should make up a little circuit to fine tune with.
Hmm...OK, no big deal, I am handy with electronic components and can solder a few things together...but the company, from a service/customer interface point of view simply dissapointed.
EDIT: Oh, keep in mind that neither LM-1 or LM-3 will allow you to capture multiple O2 sensor signals, for that you really need to move to the newer LM-2 or LC-2 controllers. Even then they sell two versions (of each I think), one is a single O2 setup then the second one is a two O2 setup...so yeah, the same box, but if you want two O2 sensor reading you'll have to cough up the hard cash...and we're not talking just an extra $25 here either...

I have the LM-2 with a single sensor, IMO it's a must for carb tuning. When working on cruise afr's you can make changes and log after each change and see the effects. I've been using mine for a couple weeks now. Wow! was i way over jetted
