What does grinding the throttle valve shorter (as recommended in most all shift kits) do? Does it effect part throttle shift points or only full throttle shift points? Also does it effect the part throttle kick down feature?

I'm talking about the throttle valve in the valve body.

Grinding the end of the throttle valve allows you to apply more throttle without forcing a kickdown. Evidently the kit designers think this is a benefit, I don't see it.

Has no effect on VB's with part throttle kickdown.
