Yes, I think it will hold up to some fun. I ran one behind my 383 in a roadrunner.

Yes, don't believe the hype that they won't hold up. I know a Guy who's been running one in a 511 Six Pak B-body for years and it's still going strong. I'm beating on two of them at the moment. And, if you wreck it, $100.00 for another and away you go again. Best kept secret in the Mopar world, and that truck you have is a bit of a rare animal (OD small block bellhousing )

They hold up fine as long as you don't run slicks.

I've got a cracked aluminum case from A833 OD transmissions under the bench and have come across a couple of more cracked ones to prove it's not all hype. That being said I have an iron case A833 OD in my 57 Plymouth that has held up well and I'm not afraid to hammer on. Just my but if it's aluminum it will probably be on borrowed time, an iron case one should be fine.
