On another note, tech'd and waiting to race.

Is the dnyo your using a chassis or engine dyno? If a engine dyno your parts are way over achieving IMO, if on a chassis dyno your really making me jealous now bow up

Air pump off a V6 GM truck 99-03 I've run one for years. They don't make much power but they do provide evac. If you go with a mechanical pump I would look at Star or GZ.

As for the question of a vacuum pump. Here is my .02. Get a Moroso three vane, good pumps and will not require a relief valve. It wont make enough to get to the point of pulling to much vacuum and will provide enough to be a benfit.

I think 650 hp would be an achievable number. Air flow aint poo for hp estimations. nice motor, glad to see the Big blocks doing well

Castrol May 13 2016 1971 Superbee

First time out with the new combo, 10.90 bests, 123MPH & 1.54 60 foot. Not bad for 4000 + pounds.
I can put more timing in it and leave harder on the brake yet. So room to grow!

Let me make sure that I'm clear on this... you went from the engine dyno to installing the engine in the car to testing the car at the track ON THE SAME DAY?

Awesome car! My dad tells me stories about a super bee my cousin had in the same color combo that ran from the cops a few times and would do nasty donuts.
I bet you surprise a lot of people in that beast. They may see the tires and think twice but that's it.

Good catch Brad. Wookie, what the heck!! Didn't you think that we would all think the First time out times were a reflection of the new Dyno,ed motor??

Whats the build specs and HP of the AS run 511?

Engine build details here.

Their new website is still under construction. I'm not 100% sure what their Dyno is but I know it is corrected.

Ok, yes I remember that very nice build. You have two great running engines.

Might of been a little less confusing if you put the new track results in the matching engine build thread with its 750 hp numbers and such. But no biggie, I think its clarified now.

What are you going to put this engine in? You may of already hinted, but cant remember. Im jealous here, You have two very nice built engines and a beautiful mean ask looking car. up

Currently I'm not exactly sure? Always looking around for the right project. Have a couple ideas though. Who knows, it may end up in the Charger yet later this year and I'll find a light weight car for 511 and really go fast!
My big problem is my wife is a Ford fan, so another Mopar may not find its way into my garage anytime soon.
Now...... Will a 440 fit in a fox body? Hmmmm. LOL.

Fast rate cam, 1.6 rockers........ I'm going with valve float. When those things are "done", it's like flipping a switch.
I don't know if you were measuring air flow, but if you were, you'd see it there if that's what it was.

I have to agree. Although we may disagree on the cause, when the power suddenly drops, the valvetrain is unstable, and needs attention.

I have no idea what altitude or atmospheric conditions you run in. IMO you should get an accurate on-track weight (sounds like you're just guess-timating it now). Without knowing more specifics, I can't comment on whether the ET & MPH make sense for the HP stated for the 511.

I'm just going on the dyno operators opinion. The vacuum gauge we had showed vacuum at 7000. Then as it went higher it was pressurizing they system. But with that said I don't disagree that those aggressive lobes can drop suddenly. Perhaps a combo of both?

How about a bit of an older mustang. I believe this one is named "MoFo"
