I put a set of pro bracket radials on my car and it doesn't like them I don't think.first pass I heated them about like I would my bias slicks and it blew the the tires at the hit, came back did a shorter burnout same deal.both times I lifted and stabbed it and it stayed hooked.i foot brake and stage at 2,000 conv flashes 3,800,first 2 passes were 19 psi dropped to 17.5 and left at idle it hooked and had best 60ft ever.came back and did same launch and blew the tires off.argh!!so I guess I am looking for suggestions,go back to bias or start spending money on suspension. currently it has super stock springs, c.e. shocks, tubular upper control arms with heim ends, heim end strut rods,90/10 front shocks.car normally 60ft 1.50,when it did hook today it went 1.46.thanks,Sam.

DA shocks on all fours should help a lot.

Time for suspension . I use the 28x10.5 PBR . Only ever run radials on my Satellite . Small block front bars with single sdjust qa1 front shocks , xhd rear springs with caltracs and rancho 9 way shocks . Fronts full loose rear shock 1 or 2 loose from full tight on extension . 18-18.5 psi .
Actually turned them wednesday at a no prep street meeting , dropped rear tyre to 18 lossened rear shock 1 click and it hooked .i am leaving soft at around 2000/2200 .
Oh yeah good burn out no John Force . I hold 3/5seconds once i see smoke in rear mirror and drive it out . Too small burn out it will turn .
This is with the PBR and Hoosier 275 radial
Good luck

Tex

18psi and a good tire gauge....They either dead hook, or go up in smoke.

I use the Hoosier 30 x 9 radial slicks myself. I found that as long as I stage in the grove where all the cars launch it always hooks fine. My suspension is basically all stock other then 3400 SS springs and Comp 90/10 front shocks. Rear shocks are just the longer MP shocks. My 60's are low 1.50's as its usually from 1.50 to 1.52 with a 1.50 best. But is is very consisdent for a radial slick on a car I drive to the track. The last two times at the track all my passes were all within 4 hundreths of each other all day long. Ron

Anyone ever did a back to back comparison on these two types of slicks?

I would try lowering the pressure. I run a Hoosier radial slick. Started with 18#, best 60' I got was 1.24 with 13#. U have to experiment with tire pressure at different tracks.

The radial will always be faster if it hooks.
