I put E 3 spark plugs in my fresh built 360. Ran it about 350 miles and checked the plugs and they were black. It ran ok but not the way I thought it should have. Has anyone used these plugs? I removed them and put NGK plugs in. It seems to run much better. I'm going to put another 350 or so miles on them and check these plugs. We set the timing and ajusted the carb. twice with the old plugs I hope this helps.

Seems to me three electrodes would shield the spark rather than make it better. shruggy

Personally I think E3's are just snake oil that burn too hot. E3 have there heat ranges all pooched imo. Unless you have coil packs wouldn't waste my time with iridium or platinum plugs either. Stick with your favorite single ground regular plug & check and replace every couple years.

My pos E3's:

If it worked as advertised all the OEM's would be running them.

They don't.

right there is your answer. i never thought much good about them and their claims......, but hey, the "tornado" [remember that "fine" item?] made more horsepower and you got LOTS better gas mileage as well, and it was cheaper to boot than a set of e3 plugs. but wait ! if you order in the next ten minutes, you will receive 2 "tornadoes" for the price of one ! laugh2

Suppose you had:
one or two single cylinder gasoline engine generators
One or two of those Kill-O-Watt electric power meters that display killowatts and kw-hrs,
One or two electric resistance heaters of 1500 watts to load the generator,
How would you use these "semi-dynos"
To test one spark plugs claims against another?

(just seeking out ideas)

Can you precisely measure fuel flow?

You have to be able to account for all the variables, including the weather, to be accurate.

Not real easy with a home brew setup.

I guess with identical loads you could run a precisely measured amount of fuel thru and time how long it takes to consume the fuel with each type plug as a sort of estimate of effectiveness.

Ever notice all the car shows that run E3 replace wore out plugs with new E3's and claim they make a difference, yep, same difference any NEW set of
plugs would make.

Of course the difference is mitigated by ZMax

lol.

crap in a can.

My pic above was after 2600k. Then the misfires & cold start problems happened. Save my old AC delcos (ya ya) with 70k from before, put those back in and everything was as right as rain. As far as fuel economy, I didn't notice a difference because I was putting in the same amount every week with similar mileage (more or less). Horsepower/acceleration didn't notice a difference right up to that 2600k mark. The pic above explains the rest.
