Smaller diameter wheels won't fit many new cars. Big rotors require big wheels.
I realize that but then and rubber band tires are still fugly. Espeicially when tried/used on an older car that they don't belong on.

I have 07 chgarger wheels on my 68 cuda. They have lots of back spaceing, I have an early B-body rear in my car and they fit perfect on the rear.
On the front I have a 75 duster disc set up, they would not sit flush against the hub area. I had to machine the front rotors hub down to fit inside the wheels hub area and even after that I had to run a 7/32s spacer. I went through all that effort to make them fit like that because I wanted them hub centered and because they look great, help cornering, I got them cheap. I could not get a set of 15 inch ralleys for that cheap.

Oh yeah, I have to install the front grease cap AFTER I install the front wheel. No center cap.
Steel wheels would have bolted on the front and rear.
Since it is a slightly different bolt pattern it is very important to make sure you get them hub centered.

Better get used to it. Pro Touromg cars are the hot rods of the future. There is a fine balance to the sidewall height as it relates to the stance of the car. 17s and 18s can make an old muscle car look like it's in the next generation. It's all personal preference, thats what make the world go round.

The hub was too long, I machined it shorter and put a 45 degree bevel on the end so it would fit inside the wheel.
Normaly wheels are centered on the hub not the studs. The bolt pattern on old mopars is 5 lugs on a 4.5 inch circle or about .7 MM smaller than the new mopar pattern witch if I recall corectly is 115MM so they can be slightly off center if one lug was tightened first or slightly more or less than the others, that is why it is important to run a thin enough spacer to keep the hub in the centering ring of the wheels big center hole. I have no vibration now at 130mph.
