Putting a 499" low deck together for the Arrow. With the CNC Indy SR's that were on it the car had gone 5.53 @ 125 with a tenth in the timer. Well...I've been thinking of trying another head possibly. Looking at the Trick Flows and the Eddy Victors. Do you folks think there is a gain or a loss to using either of these compared to the SR's?
5.53 @ 125 1/8th on the launch control..more left in her!

I wouldn't really call 440-1s "big boy pants". I think that would be more like B1-MCs or possibly Predators. In my opinion, unless you go to a serious head, the gains over what you have now will be little compared to money spent. Are the SRs fully ported, with Max Wedge size ports? If not, that would be a bit of a gain and require only a manifold change

You can almost buy an entire turbo setup for what a really good set of heads costs (including porting, manifold, rockers, etc.).

Ya, ya, most just jump on the power adder wagon and go fast just like they SHOULD but he`s done well n/a which personally impresses me more but it`s not about me so,..................

SR heads ported to MW size are short about 40 hp from a good set of 440-1 heads. If you want to go reasonably fast on a budget, my guess is 440-1 heads fully ported with 2.25 intakes and stock rockers and an easy to live with cam that won't beat them to death would be my idea of what to do. You run super classes, so ultimate power is less important to you than being able to make a lot of passes between maintainance, right?

That's a lot of money spent for 40HP increase. If I was buying new castings, new rocker gear, new manifold, etc, I would want more gain than that. But that's just me

The SR,s are the middle of the two other heads listed. Ported as your SR,s are, Id stay with them. Your car is light , and for the type of racing you do, is a fine head for your performance needs. My answer, no on the Victors and the Trick flows, keep what you have.
