Where all will I need to clearance the block when running a 4" crank and Eagle rods in a small block. It's a 318 block. I'm guessing the bottoms of the cylinders for the rod bolts and possibly the pan rails?

I've never build a SB stroker so this is new to me, looking for some input.

The oil pump housing may need it also, I recieved a good tip from this board on making a thin spacer from aluminum to put between the pump and block to push it away far enough, that way to don't have to grind the pump housing.

Interesting on the oil pump spacer, I'll have to look into that.

Do you have to do much clearancing on the block or is it just minor and some don't even need it, just asking.

What about the counter weights on the crank, do you have to do any clearancing on the block for them? It's a K1 crank.

I used a K1 crank and rods, and did have to do some clearancing around the main webs also (very little but did need some).

If I remember right I used 1/16" aluminum under the pump with no gaskets, just make sure the spacer is flat and no burrs.

I'm running Eagle H-beams in my 340 stroker. I had to notch the bores but my oil pump cleared just fine(MP high vol., MP 4" cast crank).
