I checked my 65 dodge and the relaxed height of the shock is 14-1/4" eye hole to eyehole center,
spring is at almost 3/4" of the way down on the adjustment.
what shock would i need?

2 most common stange shocks are
5006 6 inch travel shock
13.875-14.500 installed length
or

5007 which is 7 inch travel shock
15.25-16.00 installed length

both are double adjustable
i stay with the longers ones just depends
on room you have

The spring weight will depend on what the rear of the
car weighs but 130 should be in the ball park, set
the lower adjuster at 1" up from the bottom, the
shock should drop down to the working height (about
mid height of the travel), if its too high you need
a lighter spring. If it drops lower than the working
height you can dial up the adjuster about 1" or so.
I like long shocks, being longer you wont run out
of travel length but if they are short and bottom
out you will have big problems. You can adjust the
height of the car if you have adjustable shock mounts
on the rearend

Don't know the part # for the shocks ,but for springs you really need to scale the car and pick your springs according to weight. My 65 Coronet weighs 1524lbs on the rear tires and I've ran a130lb spring and I've used a 150 lb spring either one you can adjust to your liking

E. Williams 65 Coronet 500 3400lbs w/d, 446, Indy EZ'S, A&A transbrake,Comp 650 lift cam, 6.50 @ 105 mph 1/8th 10.25 @ 130mph 1/4

it looks like my 65 dodge has S5006 strange double adustable shocks. i want to duplicate the same suspension for my 65 plymouth for this year.
i got the Chassis engineering outlaw triple adjustable setup and need to get the right shocks.
thanks
Raff, i got adjustable rear lower shock mounts as well.
i think these hyper coils should be color coded for spring pressure. you have no way of telling what you have.

Call Strange and talk to them when you order them, tey come with instructions on how to set the ride hieght and they will help you select the correct spring. I have three sets of springs, brands unknown to me , they all have a thin metal tag wrapped around a coil with the rate embossed on it

Sorry to hear that, I have called them twice on the springs and had good contact on both occasions
