Looking to see who has the best 69 hemi orange engine paint. Do they make any that will hold up on exhaust manifolds like the factory did them in the over spray?

Looking to see who has the best 69 hemi orange engine paint. Do they make any that will hold up on exhaust manifolds like the factory did them in the over spray? Either go with Frank's paint as mentioned, or if you have access to Dupont Centari Acrylic Enamel, have a batch of EV2 Hemi Orange mixed, just tell the mixer to NOT add the metallic paste, do use the Enamel gloss hardner, your spray technique will determine how much gloss you want the engine to have, generally I spray them so they are glossed to the max with very minimal orange peel, the heat from engine operation will slowly age the paint hue/sheen so that it has that slight sheen to it, yet a smooth surface for easy cleaning down the road, I find trying to spray the engine "dry" to emulate the factory sheen, results in a "dry" paint surface that traps grease/oil/etc making it harder to clean, prevent stains... FYI, I've never had any issues using Dupont Centari for engine painting, it will burn off the main body of the exhaust manifolds, but the rest of the engine should have no issues if PREPPED PROPERLY....Frank's paint, depending on your application/coverage on the exhaust manifolds may leave the manifolds with a "yellowish flat patina" that won't burn off mike

Please be careful and cognizant of when your 69 hemi car was built. Early hemi cars have the lighter shade of hemi orange (similar to the race hemi color) while the later cars have the deeper hemi orange color. Talk to Frank B. before you buy your paint. Agreed, it is possible that some early 69 Hemi's got the same lighter "Race Hemi Orange" - Which all Max Wedges 62-64 and typically all Street & Race Hemi's 64-68 got. Early 69 would have been a rare exception before the switch to The reddish Street Hemi Orange typical of 69-71 Street Hemis. First pic, Street Hemi Orange on a 1970 Engine, Second pic, Race Hemi Orange on a 68 Street Hemi.

Those are some nice looking engines ! Did you restore them Scott? Where did you find that NOS filter?
I always thought the motor mounts were put on after the engine was painted.

I bought a quart from PPG per the paint code, it was almost $269 and its a nice single stage paint, just use a self etching primer. Tim
