The dart build episode is on now on the Velocity channel. As I recall they did build the chassis and most of the car. They did bring in help to get the hellcat engine running because of computer issues.

The engine build was with overdriven pulleys and run on E 85. The race distance was less then the 1/8 mile by a little bit approx., 600 ft or so. 5.80 was the approx.et number I remember too. so maybe figure 6.00 in the true 1/8th. The car also appeared to be extremely lightened by seeing all the stuff that they showed being cut out of it. But they also added weight with the cage and other stuff. But I bet the car is around 2800# or less.


Edit; Also the good news with them figuring out this conversion. It will help any of us down the road doing the same type of Hellcat conversion. Ok, They installed the engine, but they had someone come in to figure out the electronics. But they still helped us out.

Hellcat conversions might be easier in kit forms down the road.

Diablo did the initial tunes so that will help with stand alone install now. Funny they brought Hp tuner I thought they were Gm tuners.

Dodge got involved. That's what has turned me off on Roadkill no longer low budget. Funny Gas Monkey Rich wasn't even a Mopar man then he got sponsored.

Repeating scripted lines and a few Wooos doesn't make him a mopar guy, it makes him a paid shill for Dodge. They might as well have him play one of the Dodge bros in a commercial.

I just watched that episode, they had to bring in someone to get it started, because they hacked all the computer stuff out except the ecm. They figured out it needed the bcm hooked up to run.

You don't have to be a Mopar guy to get Dodge sponsorship, you just need to be in the limelight ... like that bozo from Biker Build-off a few years back. Harleys have nothing to do with Mopars but they gave him a truck ... then he got drunk and killed someone with it !!

Also on the weight of that dart I can see it weighing 2800lbs because it was gutted, It look like it had stock front/rear glass but when it was raced it had any side glass

You have thar coŕrect. Try bringing a nicely run and funded program to Mopar for some help and see what you get. Now if your in the lime light that could be a different story.

Why?............the show is a hit and has millions of viewers. He will probably sell more new cars than a Pro-Stocker with Mopar scrawled on the side. And SALES is what it's about

I don't care for him a whole lot either, although I have heard he is a really good guy in person, but I still watch the show, because they do some interesting stuff, plus there is nothing else to watch.

They give him some VERY nice trucks to drive and they are always seen......that sells trucks. They have also done several Mopars on the show other than the Dart, well before Mopar became involved.

I admit I watch the show and I understand its business so take it for what it is but gee wiz get ride of the cars that were built and sold try editing. Rich has already made Dodge commercials. I actually applaud Arron for running a car full out on a roller coaster road. I thought at first he was lifting or feathering the throttle but it was those crazy dips in the road. Like to see them run again on a real course.

There was an episode on Roadkill where they showed the build of the Charger and the F&F boys did not do it! They had a shop in Michigan actually make it run, though they had to include all the Hellcat ECMs to make it go with all the interconnected gizmos. The Diablo guys made the GMG engine run almost standalone.

I like the show, but in my view, the car's being bought are over priced, and sold if they really are bought by someone , that person paid to much. . It gets me that some people on here think that someone other the person that they know can weld and do a professional job. bolt in a motor and transmission and build a safe race car. As with most or all reality shows there are behind the scenes people to do a lot of the work. Ever watch those house renovation shows? SURE , I"LL RENOVATE YOUR 3,000 SQ.FOOT HOUSE IN 6 WEEKS and it only shows him doing anything. Open up your eyes guys, It's a TV show

This. Gas Monkey built the Dart more than Roadkill built the charger. The shop in MI did the enigne install, mini tub, caltracs, etc.

This episode was the first one I've seen of the show, as I wanted to see if my car got any airtime (0.5 seconds...haha), but the guys build some nice cars. I saw the Falcon up close and personal at Pikes Peak, and could not believe they were actually taking it up the hill. Every square inch of the car was spotless..
