anyone ever do a comparo between the two manifolds? reason I ask is the M1 comes in a Dominator flange but the Victor does not and I would like to get away from the adapter spacer and run just a full size Dommy spacer. work

If you're running a Dominator carb then the M1 4500 will make more power. If you're running a 4150 carb then it is a tossup. I think the M1 4500 makes more power but it might depend on the combo.

Good luck finding a M1 4500. I don't think they are making them anymore so you have to find one in stock somewhere.

I was running an m1 on a 512 with a 1050. bought the victor 383 ported from hughes engine with an adapter and the same 1050. the car went .050 quicker in the 1/8 and .22 quicker in the 1/4. their web sit as a tech article on intakes.

Thank's Andy, I know how you are using a victor to dyno with but was curious about the M1, a buddy of mine has a dom flange M1 that I can use if I want.

Summit still lists M1 single plane 4150 and 4500 B intakes on there site. They do not list the M1 single plane std. port RB 4150 and 4500 intakes.

The only Carbs I care about are under the hood!

I tested both intakes. The M1 made better power so I switched to the M1.

No back to back test`s but the Victor was faster in my dart w/the adapter and now being fully ported, I`m sure it would kill the M-1...........

sounds like I really cannot go wrong with ether one unless there was a big difference between them.

I found the standard M1 with the 4500 adapter worked the best - the added volume really helps

The old Team G 4500 tall top doesn't make the big power numbers on the dyno, but on every combo I've seen it on it seems to run exceptionally well at the track, plus you can pick one up cheap. Just my two cents.

while I am not the brightest bulb in the pack it seem's to me that the dominator flange to 4150 flange adapter is a choke, you go from big to small then back to big, that is the system I have on my smallblock because nobody that I have found makes a dommy flange manifold for a LA smallblock,,if I had a sacrificial manifold that I didn't give a hoot about I would like to take one and weld a plate on it and open it up to a dominator flange size and see what would happen, I know it's been done but I don't have the right equipment to do it,I know, I know, we know a guy.....LOL laugh2

Think carb venturi................low speed/high speed haul ass.........I don`t base ANYTHING on dyno #`s except where the timing and wfo afr`s are everything else is to get you CLOSE and make sure there`s no leaks or other problems. Pro-stock are out at TRACKS testing not basing everything on dyno numbers............

no typo. it ran 10.29 with the m1, 9.97 with the victor 383. the victor was ported and the adapter was matched to the intake.

Yep, and SSSOOOO tired of hearing about dyno crap and hp numbers. Dyno world yes, real world no. Do they dyno top fuel motors? NO......Pro-mod NO. Kinda like big cyl. head flow numbers and although impressive, not likely to always be the fastest down the street or track. beer
