I soaked mine in Evaporust....and the spring on one blew up...

I soaked mine in Evaporust....and the spring on one blew up... I noticed that with spring steel ... it doesn't like acid. But the spring still had to have been pretty rotten !!

Evaporust isn't an acid, so I find it hard to believe it actually caused your spring to blow up. Its a process of "chelation". I agree with Stanton, it had to be in pretty rough shape and about ready to break. Oh yea... they were pretty bad... so bad that I will buying new ones..
