My brother has done that to several sets of small block Oldsmobile heads. Zinc something or other is what they call it???

I've seen guys melt old pistons down to fill the crossover.

It may be ugly, but it sure is slow.

Girls comb their hair in rear view mirrors and the boys try to look so hard....

I spared no expense! I used a hypereutectic aluminum alloy. An old piston wink

If you did it with the head at ambient, it will probably shrink and just clink around in there.

I gave up filling those along time ago. Found some flow on the bench but never found it on the dyno.

I use the Fel Pro valley pans with the heat cross over blocked off thumbsMost of the after market race intakes have no provisons in them so using the valley pan is doubling up on that. I've treid filling them with stainless steel wool and other things like that, none of it lasted shruggy

I used a router with a flat carbide cutter, recessed the opening & epoxied a aluminum plate in the recess.Worked perfectly.

I heated the cylinder head up before I filled the crossover. This was actually a practice run for job that I am working on. I am building a 1969 455 Olds engine with a set of C castings. The Olds heads have huge exhaust crossover passages. Filling then helps quite a bit.

Then you have a much better chance of it staying in there.

Never tested it on an Olds so hope you post the results.
