Such cool cars! I just saw a red Hellcat Challenger outside the bagel store by me this morning, I talked to the owner for a couple minutes, nice guy and he loves it and can`t believe the amenities it has for such a performance car.

Cool cars forsure. But for making 1000whp just to go 9s is so dumb. If they weren't so heavy they would be much much cooler and much faster.

So it would be better to get a 1980 Honda Civic to run in the 9's?

No cage, no window net, doubt there was a trans shield, drive shaft loop etc...

Honestly, who cares about weight - we live in the age where you can make 3000HP+ if you feel like it.

Try that back in 1980 with your Volare

While I agree that the cars are pig heavy(I own a 2011 SRT)you are missing the point. With nothing more than a tire change to this Hellcat you could hop in the car and drive cross country. This is w/a car solidly in the 9's.

Ok

I dont think the older woman driving that charger thinks its dumb! mid 9 second car that seats 5, kicking stereo system, A/C, warranty, handles great, heck shes probably taking clients out to lunch in it for work.

I saw a Cobra Mustang run 8.47 This year. Weight IS THE ISSUE.

It may be ugly, but it sure is slow.

Girls comb their hair in rear view mirrors and the boys try to look so hard....

Glidden took it off the showroom floor and took it right to the track also.

If you think this is a bonestock car with a drag radial, it's not.

Dual power adders 1000whp,and only 9.71

If my car had dual poweradders, made over 1k to the tires and ran 9.70 I'd drive it off a cliff.

Take into consideration, it's also missing a 8.50 cert cage, even if it was chromoly it would add 150-200lbs. Plus a driver. It would almost weigh as much as my tow rig. Can you say 4800+ caged and legal.

Hci c6 zo6 corvettes ran 9s 10 years ago.

Edit, sorry the world's fastest hell kitty challenger is dual power adder, not the charger. Either way. Yawn.

Sweet! I assume it was also under warranty and he drove it home afterwards with its 900 watt stereo, A/C and cooled seats? Right? Probably handled awesome too!
