I double nut them in place but don't need to use sealant.

What is the best way to install new exhaust manifold studs and do I need to put any kind of sealant on them? I want to make sure I get them in right the first time with no leaks. Thanks in advance! Depends on the head in question and if it's a blind hole or open to the cooling jacket. If it's open, sealant is ok. If it's a blind hole you could potentially hydraulic the steup and crack the casting. So, open sealant ok Blind, no sealant.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

Thanks guys! It is for a 383. But what heads ? If they are not factory heads, iron or stage 6 style, they may not be wet and sealer won't be needed ...
