I would think that the shifter linkage would be the same for any floor shift A-Body.
It shouldn't matter if it was from a small block or a big block.
I reused the shifter linkage from my 273/904 combo and installed it on the 572 Hemi and 727 that went in my car. I didn't even have to adjust it, lined right up.
Kick down linkage would be different between small block and big block but shifter linkage should be the same.
The big block A-Body kick down linkage is specific to just A-Bodies. I know it's reproduced, but not cheap.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

thanks guys, now to find it somewhere!i wasn't going to use the kickdown,i don't have to have it,right? Only if you are running a manual valve body that doesn't require it.

its a manual or auto valve body. what kick down would work?its also a cross ram. What do you mean it's a manual or auto valvebody , it's one or the other, which is it? and yes I know an automatic valvebody can be shifted manually.

TCI's StreetFighter valve bodies give you better control over your transmission, while improving your car's overall performance. They'll give you the option of either full manual or full automatic control, meaning you can put it in drive and allow the transmission to shift automatically, or shift it yourself manually at any rpm you desire. Great for street and racing use, they come ready for installation and are the same valve bodies installed by TCI in their famous StreetFighter series transmissions. http://www.tciauto.com/tc/727-904-streetfighterr-valve-bodyhtml/

Thanks for the education ...

No not the run of the mill VB. You might actually try doing some research before making stupid statements. Their selling point is "They'll give you the option of either full manual or full automatic control, meaning you can put it in drive and allow the transmission to shift automatically, or shift it yourself manually at any rpm you desire." Just like an untouched factory VB. And their claim isn't exactly true because you don't have "full manual" control and factors other than the VB control automatic shifting.

its a manual or auto valve body. what kick down would work?its also a cross ram. As a general rule if it can shift itself (Auto Mode) it will need a kickdown. A FULL manual valve body will require you to shift it all the time.

If you don't have a full manual valve body (one you have to manually shift all the time), you need to use a kickdown (linkage or cable) to avoid damaging the transmission.
