So my 73 Duster 340 has been having a starting problem lately. The motor turns over but does not start. When is acts up the spark from the coil is very weak. We've done some checking changed the ceramic ballist, tried different module. Last week we hot wired it and it started right up.We found the plug connection for the fusible link was corroded. Cleaned it up and put some grease in the connection, and the car started right up.Haven't had any problems until today. And the old problem appears to be back. The guy that had helping me is an old mopar guy and is a excellant mechanic.
He said if I continue to have problems, he believes my ignition switch may be bad.It is the orginal I know for sure.
Any input, suggestions would be appreciated. If I have to get a new one which is better NOS or aftermarket? Never had to do one of these. Are they a pain to switch?
thanks,

seperate the bulkhead again & clean all terminal on both sides. small metal bristle brush for the male ones and a male one for the female ones. I hear Deoxit is good for cleaning. Koppercoat is good for continuity. what kind of grease did he use?

Disconnect and clean the bulkhead connector. Then if the problem continues replace the ignition switch. The bulkhead connector is the weak point in the system.

NOS is always best. I installed a Standard Motor Products US88 switch in my '70 and the starting and ignition side works perfectly. The accessory position can be hit or miss. I'll be looking to get my OEM rebuilt.

Thanks for the input. We didn't get as far as the bulk connections. Once we cleaned the fusible link connection plug and it started. We thought we had the problem fixed. Guess that will be next.Looks like it may be a pain to get too.
