when using a 2 step on a auto trans BUT NO transbrake is it better to mat the throttle or not fully allowing for some accelerator pump shot ?
been a long time since I used one , never ran it long enough to try .
I am aiming for a more consistent light . I know everyone says go a brake but that is a big spend .Hoping the 2 step might give me some of that consistency .
I do have the 2 step button mounted on my brake pedal above the pad
any thoughts welcome

Tex

That would depend on the launch rpm... if you use a
low rpm then you would need the pump shot.. if high
rpm you have the air flow going already

If you mat it What rpm are you setting the 2 step?
Will the brakes hold it on the line? I think you will have to test to find out what works best.

Are you running in a electronics class? Around here we either run in Pro class (electronics/ Trans brake/ 2 step) or Foot brake class( no electronics of any kind, trans brake or 2 step).

ok ,
I will be leaving 2200-2600 . that's all I can hold the brakes at easily .
the class allows transbrake and 2 step . no delay box .
looks like more testing
thanks guys

I'm not sure if 2200-2600 will be enough rpm that you won't need some pumpshot when it comes off the 2 step.
By cutting the engines torque while on the 2 step you MAY be able to go higher rpm than normal. Again testing is the key!
You will have to find your "spot" on the starting line to know if you need more or less 2 step rpm for your reaction times.

Was your foot on the floor.. thats pretty low rpm/ air flow to
get away with no more pump shot..
..to the OP... you may have to
roll the pedal up to and just above the 2 step rpm so you still
have a pump shot left... might even need a 50cc pump.. your gonna
have to test

Yes, on the tin. 4 wheel line loc, MSD 6T, soft touch, 2 step and RTD 6. I made my own rpm modules. Super consistant 11.50 Super Pro setup. I used a R4781, R3310 and 80496. All three worked flawless.

I am talking a 50cc pump on the primary side... then you might
need it on the secondary side also... I didnt do much foot brake
racing because I couldnt hold it on the brakes on the line but
my engine needed a lot of fuel on the hit

I've set mine between 1800-2300 worth my foot to the floor with no problem. Mallory hi fire ignition. 12.00 smallblock. Like others said, you're just gonna have to try it out.
