My 904 is gone bad! Should I rebuild it rebuild it with premium components (within reason). lighter weight less rotating weight. they've lasted in draggers in the 10's & I'm assuming you ain't that far.

ok I got a used 904 just to get me through the summer. It came with a lock up converter and it has a weight on it.Can I use that on a 70 340? The one that came out of it did not have that weight on it. Can I remove that weight or do I need to get a non lock up converter?

as you know the lockup converter needs to stay with the lockup 904. if the 340 is internally balanced then yes you can knock off any weights from the front flat face of the converter

That's cool thanks! I did not know that the converter had to stay with the transmission. Now hope its a good one!
