Same problem here. Had to grind the block, sanded the nut that attaches the bracket to the stud to make it thinner, shorten the copper stud and rebent the bracket that attaches to the stud.
PSO headed 632 from MM. Cracked cylinder, loose valve seats, low oil pressure, low cylinder pressure. ..... Now its a door stop....

There is a guy on the board here that makes a high output starter that should work... his name is Rob Mccord or something like that... maybe someone else will remember his name.. its a clockable starter

I have looked at these , but I have not used one.

I have that Mc Robb one since I needed no offset to the starter motor to clear my headers, and I have his starter on another 505 Wedge engine I have and liked it a lot. It required grinding of the block in the circular area around it to get it in there.
