I had my 383 cleaned and maged and measured.Local guy wants to bore and deck it. I am OK with that but asked him if they use torque plates. Advised Me they are not needed. So I will pick up my block and look for someone who dose. Any recomendations ???

Call Southward 541-431-0556 and make sure you use the same head gaskets and fasteners lengths on the torque plates as your going to use on your motor, they may not have the .022 thick small bore steel shims head gaskets for the 383 and 426W 4.250 bore size scope If they don't I do, they stop here regulary so I can loan them to them when they stop in here the next time up

I'm not familiar with any shops in the Eugene area but Gray's Automotive in McMinnville is very experienced with Mopar engines. Gray's has torque plates as well as a number of other Mopar specific tools. Gray's is also set up with headers and motor mounts to dyno test SB and BB Mopar engines.
