anyone have the measurements for the holes in the trunk lid to mount a GTS tail panel? I think mine are wrong. Looks like someone drilled a non tail panel trunk lid.

HELP!!!!

I used to have the measurements, but my filing system leaves a lot to be desired. eyes I will see what I an find. If worse comes to worse I can always measure them again. wave You can always measure your tail panel and drill accordingly... work

The holes seem like they are too far apart, top to bottom. The clips are really tight against the top of the hole on the top and the bottom of the hole on the bottom.. Its chipping paint. The clips are supposed to be the right ones. I may have to slot the hole up on the top and down on the bottom. Im not sure how tight the clip fits into the hole when the hole is right.

There should be lots of room to move the clips around on the panel, you sure you have the right ones? shruggy Time for a pic! scope

I don't have any pics with me here at work, but they were supplied by a well know Mopar vendor R/T specialties. they have a little longer stud than the original is what I'm told. The clip has a little wire hanging off it. I need to put the clips onto the panel in order to get it on. That don't seem right at all. With the metal piece that the stud comes out of there would be no way to mount the clip then hang the panel. that why I think the holes are too far apart.

I have attached two pics. The first one is like the clips I have, the second is a pic I found of what they were originally. Will the ones I have work?

They will probably work but the 4 clips on the sides used 5/16" nuts instead of the 3/8" sheetmetal nuts the other clips use.

So I figure my holes need slotted toward each other... the clip just does not want to go into the holes. It is installed as far into the slot as I can force it.

Go ahead and slot the holes, then use silicone to seal the metal and paint. Nobody will know the difference. scope

My memory isn't failing me! At least not this time. I thought I had saved a post from a couple years ago from Rhino on this very subject. I had and this is it.

"I have not found but a couple of the clips at this point. I did check two trunk lids and recorded the measurements, but of course it is more complicated to explain than I thought. I started from the left top corner and measured to the right. They are 1/4" holes and the first one starts 5/8" from the edge and 1-1/2" down. The next one down is 4-7/8". The top row from the first hole is 4-5/8", 9-3/4", 9-3/4", 9-3/4" and the last hole is also 5/8" from the top right edge with the hole below it at 4-7/8". The bottom row holes from the left bottom hole is 9-1/4", 7-3/4", 10-3/4", 7-3/4", and 7-3/4". Of course you can approximate and check the hole spacing by turning your panel over and reversing the dimensions. Not to worry, I was a Mechanical Designer in a previous lifetime and double-checked my findings. I will see if I can dig-up more of the clips."
