I am using a Hayes blow shield with a 143 tooth
Flywheel. Do you guys think the mopar mini starter
Will work or should I use a factory starter. Also, should it be mounted
On the inside diameter or outside where the little
Tab was that got knocked out. It's a 10.5 compression
Engine. Thanks

I ended up having to get a RobbMC starter. I am using 2" TTI headers, and they say it is the only starter that will work. Did not recognize this pre install, and switched to the RobbMC after fighting to get a Mopar mini-starter to work.

both my cars have Lakewood shields (BB Body and BB A body)with the MP starter

B-body has 130T uses the inner hole with the funky starter adapter and the knockout is in tact on the block plate

A-body has the 143T which uses the outer hole and you have to remove the knockout in the block plate

Both of these cars have the 'older' 2 piece style blow shield

Thanks. When you say "MP Starter" do you mean the mini starter or do you mean the factory/original bigger starter?

Starter location is flywheel diameter dependent , you can't choose one mounting location or the other.

Ive used both = B-body has a factory starter the a-body has the mp mini starter - locations would be the same regardless of which starter you use.
