I started this on forabodiesonly and got alot of flack. Just wondering what everyone is paying for a tank full? I am putting it on the Duster to go racing this year and wondered. Most everyone over there dosn't like the idea. So I put it on the bottle! It's a nother 150 hp. that I can use, or not. Just till I can get a stroker motor. Thanks.

4.50 lb at hrp in so-cal 45$ to fill my 10lb bottle. and they gravity feed no pump + better fill = longer lasting bottle
10 pounds of liquid iS 10 pounds of liquid does not matter if pumped or gravity nor does one or the other last longer.
I sold at 4.50 a pound this past season.

i just noticed less runs out of the local shop that pump fills. and im not talkin 1 run more like 4. so i will only get gravity fed bottles now.
You just dont get it. If your 10 pound bottle weighs 25 pounds its full. Period. The only way you will get less runs is if the shop did not fill it. Did you weigh your bottle every time it was filled to be sure it was filled?

$4.25/lb. If you don't use a pump, you have to make the bottle cold or freeze it to get it full. Why can't they get the bottle full? Are they using scales? Do they know that you can't get the last third of N2O out of the big bottle?
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I saw that and the usual knothead was the instigator. He's not here for a reason.

Hay Blown61. I live in Rhinelander. Local body shop owner has it for his snowmobiles. He said he could do it at his cost. He has a filling station. Where in this god forsaken state are you?

i have paid anywhere from 212.00 to 118.00 for a 64lb bottle....Best thing is if you can find two places to play against each other, start your own price war sort of, at least sometimes this "bad" economy can help you out LOL LOL I have been buying 64lb mother bottles and filling my own since 1989
I have learned a lot of tricks too and have been getting 52-58lbs out of my 64lb bottles

Welding supply places. I have always used the easy method of frezzing my bottles and just hook up a line to the mother bottle, thats it.
you need to know if your mother bottle has a dip tube or not. If it does not have a dip tube, you need a stand that will hold the bottle upside down. You freeze your bottle for 3-12 hrs. Place you bottle on a scale, hook up a line to the mother bottle. Crack the valve on the mother bottle, crack the line to purge it of air at the small bottle, then open both valves and watch the scale. Do not overfill ....thats about it.
Sounds simple BUT be very careful as liquid nitrous CAN give you a freeze burn. Its best to have someone walk you through it the first couple times. I learned how to do it becasue instead of getting my bottles filled all the time, i would freeze bottles and transfer from 1/2 full to make a full bottle. This gave me a lot of practice..LOL LOL
