Since 2004 I've had drag radials on my Duster BFG radial T/A on the front and their drag radials out back. In 2012 I bought new BFG drag radials for the back. For some reason the new set is already worn down to the chords even though they were not even used like the old set. Now it's time for new rubber.

The car goes to the strip a few times a year and then is street driven all summer. I want a sticky tire and don't want to deal with switching to slicks when I race so the tire has to be a DOT type. I've been looking at MT ET streets, Hoosier quick time pro DOT, M&H you name it. Both in the bias and radial forms.

The Duster is about 3200 lbs, about 530-550hp 440, super stock springs, manual 727 with 3.73 Dana. I've been running 275/60 in back and 215/60 up front. I'd like a slightly taller tire up front and because of stock wheel wells and spring location the 275's are about it for size. Wheels are 15x6 and 15x8.5 American torque thrust D's

Sorry about the length but I need some suggestions please. Thanks

For the front, go with a 215-70, or 205-70.

If you were satisfied w/ the BFG drag radials, then you'll be REAL happy with the M/T ET Street radials. The M/T radials hook WAY better.
The 3754R is the traditional 275-60 drag radial and what I'd recommend.

For my Street/Strip 500hp 73 Duster, I have two sets of rears, on their own wheels, that we always switch out.. 275-60-15 BFG T/A and Mickey Thompson Drag Radials..

The T/A's will not hook on the street.. I've gotten the car sideways when stabbing the throttle at 60 mph.. smile But they hold up over the miles and they give the car the "Street Car" look...

The M/T's are a sticky tire that gives a 1.4/1.5 60' time, which is not bad for a street car with stock suspension.. However they do not last on the street..

So its pretty much up to you.. If you're ok with spending $500-$600 on tires every 500 miles or so... then MT are the answer..

M/T has some new drag radial tires out, you may want to check them out.

Thanks guys! I'm leaning more toward the radials just because that's all that's ever been on the car. That new MT tire isn't even listed on summit's website. For a front I was looking at a 205/70 Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max.

Are your front tires radials ? I ask because I run a 215/75-15 standard street radial tire up front and when I went to a radial tire it handles much better all around them when I uses a bias tire in the back. I used Hoosier QTP tires which are not a radial and the car would give a little wonder in the traps. I switched to a 30 x 9 Hoosier radial slick and it handles great now with no wonder at all. I run the Hoosier radial slick on the street and have been for over 4 years but myself I would want to go radial if you run radial up front. Maybe not if you run a bias tire up front. I prefer the way my car handles on radial tires all around. Ron

That was the main thing I wanted to avoid was mixing tires. The fronts are radials now and if I was going with bias in the rear I'd be using bias up front too.

I am running bias tires on the front and drag radials on the back with no problems. A few weeks ago I had slicks on the back and I did not like the way it handled. Like the drag radials better.

Et street radial and be done. Good set of adjustable rear shocks on the back and let it eat.

I don't have any experience with Hoosier's street legal drag tires, but I've heard of people speak well of them. I do run their radial drag slicks and have had great, consistent results. Here are their offerings:

Hoosier drag tires.

I bought the Hoosier drag radials for my car. Really liked the QTP's on a previous car so I wanted to give Hoosier my business.
I like them thus far. One thing of note, they are about 10 pounds each lighter than comparable Mickey's are.

I made my decision on fronts. I went with a Firestone FR710 in 205/70-15. The rears I am going to get in a few days I'm probably going with M&H Drag radials in 275/60-15. I'll post pics up when they are all mounted. Thanks guys for all the suggestions up
