hdphilbo OP member H Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 32 Davenport,Fl	I just Bought a 1970 Dodge challenger .originally a 383 car.now a 73 440.i was doing my initial inspection when i found the coil was very hot and the car hadn't been run in 7 hrs.upon further inspection.i noticed the distributor wired directly to the coil.there's no Mopar Orange,silver or gold box????Im wondering WTF is going on with this thing?any IDEA"S???

Electronic ignition did not be come standard will later than 70. They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Might need to chase the wires around to see if they hid something somewhere? At least see how it is wired how it is, then diagnose from there.
